Why Pragna? પ્રજ્ઞા અભિગમ 2021

• It gives children an opportunity to learn at their own pace and level
• Provides children a platform to learn through experience
• It offers a chance to learn from teachers and peers
• It gives child an exposure to various project work and field work
• Child'a Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is embedded & stress free
• It helps child learning how to learn
• Children are learning without burden

Number of programs across the country such as DPEP, SSA, NPEGEL have been implemented towards universalization of elementary education. As a result , since past one decade there has been significant improvement in the enrollement and retention of children at the primary level. However, despite sincere and dedicated efforts at various levels to imporved quality in education, there is a long way to go. When one thinks of usual primary classes, the picture of any teacher centic classrooms that comes to one’s mind is as under:

1. Teacher dominates the classroom all the time, with no allowance for children to learn of develop on their own.
2. It is assumed that all children will learn the same thing at the same time and in the same manner.
3. The problems of multi-grade and multi-level nature of classroom are not addressed.
4. TLMs are rarely used by children as a normal practice.
5. Most of the materials used are not prepared for self-learning.
6. There is no opportunity for the child to learn the lessons missed during his/her absence from class.
7. Evaluation methods are mostly summative and test only the rote learning by children.

In order to address the above issues, Pragna – an activity based learning approach, has been initiated with an objective to correct and overcome these difficulties and to open the classroom to a more holistic and learner based way of working with children through the day, throughout the year.

PRAGNA:

Classroom: The Pragna Classroom is child frendly place for children where they would love to come and learn. It is a place where the material is within their reach and they also have freedom to use there material as per their need.

Subject Classroom: There are subject specific rooms instead of common classroom. The subject specific rooms are designed keeping in such a way that the child can have an easy access to the material related to particular subject. Separate room for Language-EVS and Mathematics- Rainbow activities are organized in the schools.

Seating Arrangement: Children as well as teacher also sit on the floor rather than table-chair, benches or any kind of fixed furniture, Carpet or mat is provided to all the schools.

Group Formation: Children of Standard 1 and 2 at together in any of the two classrooms. The combine group of children of standard one and two are divided in six groups according to the stage of learning. These groups are (1) Teacher Supported Group (2) Classmate group Group (3) Self-study Group (4) Assessment Group.

" પ્રજ્ઞા" એટલે પ્રવૃત્તિ દ્વારા જ્ઞાન.  " પ્રજ્ઞા" એક અભિગમ તરીકે આપણે સ્વીકાર્યો છે. આ એક વિદ્યાર્થી કેન્દ્રી પ્રવૃતિલક્ષી અભિગમ છે.

શિક્ષણનો આ એક નૂતન અભિગમ છે. આ અભિગમ અનુસાર શિક્ષણની પ્રકિયા ખરા અર્થમાં ભાર વિનાની બની છે.

પ્રજ્ઞા અભિગમના મુખ્ય હેતુ...

1. દરેક બાળક પોતાની ગતિ અને ક્ષમતા મુજબ આગળ વધે.
2. દરેક બાળક પોતાનો અભ્યાસક્રમ પૂર્ણ કરે તે સુનિશ્ચિત થાય.
3. દરેક બાળક કોઈ પણ સંકલ્પના શીખવા માટે જરૂરી એવા સંકલ્પના સ્પષ્ટીકરણ,મહાવરો અને મૂલ્યાંકનના ક્રમિક તબકકાને અનુસરે
4. દરેક બાળક શિક્ષક પાસેથી શીખે,અન્ય બાળકોની મદદથી શીખે તેમજ સામગ્રીની મદદથી જાતે પણ શીખે.
5. દરેક બાળકનું સતત અને સર્વગ્રાહી

સમગ્ર રાજ્યમાં NCERT દ્વારા તૈયાર કરવામાં આવેલ અભ્યાસક્રમ અમલી બનેલ છે. આપણે ત્યાં વર્ષ ૨૦૧૦થી પ્રજ્ઞા અભિગમ અમલી છે. વર્ષ ૨૦૧૮ થી રાજ્યની તમામ સરકારી પ્રાથમિક શાળાઓ અને ઉચ્ચ પ્રાથમિક સહિતની સરકારી પ્રાથમિક શાળાઓના ધોરણ ૧-૨ માં NCERT ના અભ્યાસક્રમ મુજબ પ્રજ્ઞા અભિગમ અમલી બનેલ છે.

પ્રજ્ઞા અભિગમમાં વિદ્યાર્થીને શીખવા માટે અભ્યાસકાર્ડ મહત્ત્વનું સાધન છે. તદ્ઉપરાંત જયાં-જયાં લેખનકાર્ય છે, ત્યાં સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી બીજું અગત્યનું સાધન છે. સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીમાં જે અભ્યાસફાર્ડનો ભાગ મૂકવામાં આવેલ છે, તે શીખવાના ચોક્કસ ક્રમમાં મૂકવામાં આવેલ છે.

• પ્રજ્ઞા સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી

અહીં શિક્ષક પાસે સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી માટે સવિશેષ અપેક્ષાઓ છે જેમ કે,

લેડરના ક્રમમાં જયાં લેખન આવે ત્યાં જ સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીનો ઉપયોગ કરાવવો.

વિદ્યાર્થીના જે-જે અભ્યાસકાર્ડનું સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીનું કાર્ય પૂર્ણ થાય તેની તરત જ ચકાસણી કરવી. જરૂર જણાય તો નિદાન ઉપચારની કામગીરી કરવી તથા તેમાં તારીખ અને સહી અવશ્ય કરવી.

સપ્તાહના અંતિમ દિવસો (શનિવાર - રવિવાર)માં સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી વિદ્યાર્થીના વાલીને જોવા માટે તથા વિદ્યાર્થીની પ્રગતિને જાણવા માટે ઘરે આપવાની રહેશે. વાલીના પ્રતિભાવ મેળવવા પ્રયાસ કરવો. સપ્તાહના પ્રથમ દિવસે સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી વર્ગમાં પરત આવે તે જરૂરી બનશે.

• આ ઉપરાંત વાલી પાસે પણ સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી અંગે કેટલીક અપેક્ષાઓ છે જેમ કે, 

1. સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીમાં પોતાનું બાળક શું શીખી રહ્યું છે તે જાણે.
2. તે જે-જે બાબત શીખ્યા છે, તે જ પ્રમાણે સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથીમાં લેખન થઈ રહ્યું છે કે નહીં તે જાણે.
3. વાલી પોતે વિદ્યાર્થીની પ્રગતિ અંગેના પ્રતિભાવ આપે.

આશા છે, વિદ્યાર્થીના ગુજરાતી-ગણિત અંગેના બહિર્મુખી વિકાસમાં સ્વઅધ્યયનપોથી ઉપકારક બનશે.

• પ્રજ્ઞા મુજબ શિક્ષક અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓની બેઠક વ્યવસ્થા 

શિક્ષક અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓની બેઠક વ્યવસ્થા પ્રજ્ઞા મુજબ ચાર જૂથમાં છે

જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ શિક્ષક પાસેથી કશુંક સમજવાનું છે, તે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પાસે ગુલાબી કાર્ડ હોય છે. એ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ શિક્ષક સમર્થિત જૂથમાં બેઠા હોય, જેમની પાસે લીલા રંગનું કાર્ડ છે તેઓ સહપાઠી જૂથમાં બેઠા હોય, કથ્થઈ રંગના કાર્ડવાળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સ્વ-અધ્યયન જૂથમાં બેઠા હોય, અને જેમની પાસે વાદળી રંગનું કર્ડ હોય તેઓ મૂલ્યાંકન જૂથમાં બેઠા હોય. જે તે કાર્ડ ઉપર આ ચાર પૈકી કોઈ એક રંગનું વર્તુળ હશે કે ત્રિકોણ હશે. જો આ ચાર જૂથ પૈકી કોઈ જૂથમાં સ્વઅધ્યયન પોથીનો ઉપયોગ કરવાનો હશે તો સ્વ-અધ્યયન પોથીને સંબંધિત પેજ પર પણ આ ચાર પૈકી કોઈ એક રંગનો ત્રિકોણ કરેલો હશે. તેના પરથી ખ્યાલ આવશે.
